Official start of Kindergarten Video surveillance monitoring centre

On 4 March 2009. Sofia’s Mayor Boyko Borisov and the Minister of Interior Mihail Mikov gave official start of Video surveillance center for monitoring the educational and social institutions. The center is located on Benkovski 12.
The system is built by Sectron in cooperation with Lirex – BG and includes 119 municipal schools and kindergardens in ten metropolitan areas. The video control center will give greater security for children in area schools.
Installation of municipal video surveillance system began effectively in 2007 and was carried out in stages. It is completely compatible and linked to the system for video surveillance of SDVR, which is an important prerequisite for increasing the impact of the activity. The system is built with high speed dome cameras from PELCO’s Spectra ІV series, vandalproof dome cameras (CNB V1815PVR) and weatherproof cameras with IR illumination (CNB BE4815PVR)
120 schools and 19 social institutions are already under constant video surveillance.
The first pilot school is Frederic Joliot-Curie. According to the director of the school the system guarantees the security of the children and gives their parents feeling of safety during their children’s stay at school.
First phase of construction of the was system completed in 2007 and covered 45 municipal schools and 26 kindergartens in total eight metropolitan areas: Sredets, Slatina, Oborishte, Lozenets, Triaditsa, Serdika “ “Krasna Polyana” and “Sunrise.”
The second stage was implemented in 2008 and comprises 13 schools and 32 kindergartens. At the present the surveillance system is covering 119 municipal schools and kindergartens in these 10 metropolitan area.
In 2009 the system will be further extended in areas “Lulin”, “Nadezhda” and “Ovcha Kupel”
