Technological developments in video technology over the past decade have opened up new perspectives and revolutionized security technology and devices.

The new functionalities were adopted and quickly integrated into Paradox devices and security systems.

The latest development from the Canadian technology company is the DB7 wireless video doorbell, which can be freely mounted to new or existing installations of Paradox alarm systems.

The Paradox DB7 Video Doorbell adds surveillance protection to your home or business alarm system. It integrates security with style into your everyday life. DB7 lets you see and clearly hear who is at your login 24/7, and Paradox's servers will retain your visitor events for up to 60 days (monthly fee applies).

The Paradox DB7 is equipped with a Full HD (1920x1080) camera with infrared illumination and provides excellent image quality. The Paradox Wireless Video Doorbell can be connected to the network using a 2.4Ghz Wi-fi connection and can be placed practically anywhere we can provide it with wireless coverage and a source of electricity.

But how does the DB7 wireless video doorbell fit into the Paradox alarm system? How will the connection between picture and sound be made?

Easy and affordable. A basic requirement to take advantage of DB7 functionality is to have a registered site to which a Doorbell module can be added using the BlueEye application. You will need this application to use it as well, as Insite Gold does not support DB7.

Download the BlueEye app from the Google Play store or Apple's APP Store.
Scan the QR code generated in the app's corresponding menu item on the DB7 Wireless Video Doorbell camera, which scans it and connects to the specified Wi-Fi network, and you're good to go.
The DB7 does not have its own relay output, but any PGM output on the connected Paradox control panel can be set as a door open output. You can even use the wireless Magellan 2WPGM module. In this way, we can flexibly control the opening of the door or gate from any point.

The DB7 wireless video doorbell is also equipped with its own PIR sensor, thanks to which the device sends a push message when someone passes or stops in front of it. DB7 detects motion not only in this way, but also by analyzing the change in the video signal, as is already known and common for video surveillance cameras.

Two types of mounting bases are available for attaching the DB7 to the wall. One is a straight, "traditional" base that allows for perpendicular mounting. While the other offers a 30-degree installation angle, which is very useful when the wireless video doorbell is installed next to the front door and the person who comes does not necessarily have to stop in front of the intercom. The "traditional" base is part of the package, and the slanted DB7BRKT can be purchased as an option. The DB7 and mounting bracket accessories are available in black and white.

As for the power supply, the DB7 is not picky: 12-24 V DC and AC are suitable for it. Under the hood there is also a special battery that ensures stable operation even in the event of a short power outage.

It is possible to purchase a cloud-based storage service where the DB7 "uploads" the footage. Recording starts from motion detection and ringing. A snapshot is created that provides information about the event and you can download the accompanying video to your mobile device.

As an additional accessory, a wireless doorbell module (DBC5) is offered, which has a range of 30 meters and is activated by pressing the intercom button. The DBC5 communicates directly with the DB7 wireless video doorbell (433 Mhz) and offers 8 different ringtones.
